Joburg council | DA welcomes Gwamanda axing, warns against Nkonkou

JOHANNESBURG – The DA is welcoming the axing of former Joburg Mayor and Community Devlopment MMC Kabelo Gwamanda.
Mayor Dada Morero relieved Gwamanda of his duties while he was on special leave.
The sanction was made after he was arrested for a funeral scheme scam.
He’s been replaced by Tebogo Nkonkou.

But, the DA is warning against the new appointment, accusing the councillor of racist statements.
Mayor Morero, however, says Nkonkou will improve the lives of residents.
The DA is also calling for the new MMC to release the audit into a petition to rename Sandton Drive.
